| Saw the movie Coco avant Chanel on the plane when returning home. After watching the movie, I really admire her altitude and her will to achieve her happinese. To do the thing that she wants. To not be afraid of the unknown and just sieze every opportunites that comes along. Although I am quite surprised that she became a mistress when she is such a proud lady. Those years she must be very unhappy, but I guess that part of her life also gave her the opportunity to become who she is.
I am not saying I agree with all that she did, but I really admire her will to get what she wants and her ability to carry out her decision. I also admire her for not conforming to the others and always keep to her true self. I guess it really takes all those attribute to build such a big fashion empire.

| The Holy Land Trip - Conclusion
Although, alot of places that I visited has become way too touristy, it's still worth going. But only worth going to go with a Christian group, instead of normal tour group. Otherwise, it will be like just visiting any other place, and there's really no reason to put yourselves through the ordeal of having to eat 13 consecutive days of middle east food. >_<
It's nice that how our group lead will lead us to read the bible, or pray, or sing hymns at different places that we visit to help us reflect upon our faith, but because of the tight schedule, there really isn't much time left to reflect upon. But it's still better than none.
My favourite place of the trip is Mt. Sinai, and the Garden Tomb. Mt. Sinai, for it's beauty, and Garden Tomb for its spiritual meaning behind.
Some other random thoughts that came to my mind during the trip: -the Romans like their baths -Moses was a very good hiker -Everywhere we go, it's all so crowded -Hymns are very beautiful when sung inside a catholic church with good accoustics -our group is a group that's crazy about shopping, but it's also very 可愛 because we are very willing to help each other. -I think Jerusalem is worth visiting again, but not with a tour group to visit so many places, but only to just go slowly and take my time to reflect upon things.

| The Holy Land Trip - Day 11 Nov 2
Spent the morning exploring the hotel, but most of the places were not open. -_- We then went to Petra, one of the new 7 wonders of the world.
We took a horse ride to get to the front of the Siq (is a huge gorge), which is the only opening into the ancient city. Once we got out of the gorge, we found ourselves facing a very magnificent building--the Treasury.
The Treasury is really a king's tomb, but because the Beduins that lived there before though there is treasure inside he urn at the top, so they called it the treasury. They just carved that whole thing out of solid rock using hammer and chisel, and it's very tall and big, with very beautiful carvings. Funny thing is that there are statues of different gods from different culture all in that same building. According to our tour guide, when the Beduins moved in to live in the cave, they threw away everything inside, so there's nothing left for researcher to research about inside.
Anyway, as we walked more into the city, we find many other tombs (not as pretty as the treasure, because they got eroded) and some temples built during the Roman times. That day it's very windy, so it's also very sandy as well, so we didn't walk for too long otherwise, I think it's easy to spend 2-3 days if you want to take a close look at everything. It was so sandy that day that I fill that even my ears, my nose, and my mouth have sand in it. >_<
There was a shop in Petra that sell sand art in a bottle, and in there, one of the Beduin working there is actually a HK resident. He married a HK woman, and he can speak very good Cantonese. We were all very amazed.
Anyhow, we decided to head out earlier then planned, so we can get to the Amman eariler, and while we wait for the flight, we were able to get 5 rooms to share among 53 people to clean ourselves up a bit before the flight. Very considerate of our group leader. ^v^

| The Holy Land Trip - Day 10 Nov 1
We went to Yardenit, which is the baptising site on the Jordan River on Israel side. They have different places for people to walk into the water. The water is very green and there are lots of fish in it. The water is quite deep. The water is already chest high not very far off the bank.
We then went to Bet She'an next. It's a very ancient city dated all the way back to the 4th century. A lot of buildings are preserved very well. In that city there is a huge theater that can seat 7000 people, and if you stand in the middle, you don't have to speak very loud and you can already hear your own echo. Very intelligent design of the Romans.
Then we cross the border to go to Jordan. The officials can even smoke in the custom area. -_-'' There were lots of flies at the border too! After we clear the custom, we head to Mt. Nebo where Moses climbed to its top and God show him the promised land which he can never enter. One thought that came to my mind then was that Moses was a very good hiker. Seriously, it's quite sad for Moses to be able to get so close, but never able to enter.
Then we go for a 2.5 hours drive to our hotel in Petra. That hotel is very big and strange. It is built like a village and a couple rooms are group together in a little stone house. It's has shops and gardens all around the village. My roommate was saying that they have lots of space to waste... >_< but really, I failed to see how that hotel can be 5 stars.

| The Holy Land Trip - Day 9 Oct 31
We went to the Sea of Galilee (which is now called Lake Tiberias) to get a boat ride. They said they built the boat according to the design of fish boat back in Jesus's time. We sang songs and read a bible scripture on the baot. Then the captain started singing Hebrew song and started to show us things to buy. -_-''
Afterwards, we went to the Church of Beautitudes where Jesus preached about 8 福. The church is quite new and it's very pretty. There was a mass going on and they were singing hymns and it sound so beautiful.
Then, we went to Tabgpha. We first go to the church of 7 springs which is the church to mark the place where Jesus performed the miracle of 2 fish and 5 loaves. There are still very beautiful mosaic left on the floor from the Byzatine Period. They even keep 鯉魚 in their front yard too.
After 1 minute ride, we are at Church of St. Peter's Primacy. That is the place where Jesus prepared breakfast for Peter and John and he asked Peter 3 times if Peter loves Him. There is a big rock in the church which they said that Jesus prepared the breakfast there and that was the place where He called out to the disciples.
Next, we went to Caphanaum which they say is the base of Jesus during His 3 years of ministry on Earth. There is the ruin of an ancient synagou and there is also some ruins that they think is Peter's house. They now build a new church on top of that site, and the new church has the shape of a fish as well.
Next we went to eat our lunch - St. Peter's fish. They deep fried the whole fish and serve them with fries. Israel version of fish and chips?
After another hour drive, we got to Mt. Hermon. We saw a stream which is one of the source of the Jordan River and then we hike a bit to see a water fall, which is another source of the Jordan River. The road was really muddy, and it's very considerate for the government to put in shoes cleaning facilities there. (which is just taps with a brush, but still good)
At night, we had dinner at the hotel and we had a sharing meeting. This tour group really feel like a summer camp, or a fellowship more then a tour group. Even though some people were late or went missing, we didn't complains and even though, we very often had to rush in to some of the sites, we could always still make it. That is pretty amazing.
